Venetian Beads in the sommerso style. These Murano glass beads are made by hand using a torch and Moretti glass rods which are wrapped over a mandrel. The sommerso refers to the small particles of colored glass which are submerged beneath the top coating of transparent glass. Aventurina (or avventurina in Italian dialect) is small particles of suspended copper which gives these Murano beads their sparkle in light. The Venetian beads are made one by one by hand.
