Ca' D'Oro & Gemmato
Murano Glass Beads in the Cluseau and Ca'D'Oro styles are some of the most classic of Venetian beads, featuring patterns inspired by the art and architecture of Venice, whether it be with the cracked gold appearance of the mosaics or the vast array of colors in the art. Murano Glass Beads have been produced in this tradition for centuries. The allure of Murano and Venice are are still alive. These beads feature the use of 24kt gold foil, .925 sterling silver or white gold foil applied in a thin sheet to the molten glass and finally decorated. The decorations give them their names.

Ca'd'oro gets its name for the famous Palazzo along the grand canal which was decorated with Gold Foil to demonstrate just how wealthy its owners were. While the gold is no longer there, its name lives on and it is still a beautiful building. The gold on our beads may be interior or exterior. The exterior gold foil will wear over time and exposure - much like the exposed gold on the Palazzo. The Gemmato is decorated with small particles of colored glass giving them a jeweled appearance.
