High Water Oct, Nov 2012
It appears that Venice is in for a year of high water. With it's early arrival a couple of weeks ago and almost continually since Friday 26 October. The novelty has long since warn off for the locals. Wearing your stivalli (boots) is a daily occurrence and the poor shop owners are constantly pumping water out of their stores. Fortunately the electrical lines are safely contained otherwise is would be quite dangerous to go wading in the water. Below are a few pictures.
