Murano Glass Bead Cobalt Amethyst Incalmo Rectangle 36x30

Large focal Venetian Bead in the style known as Incalmo where a base color, usually in an opaque and often white is used and a bead is made, then on the top of this decorations are applied and an outer coat of transparent Moretti glass such that the base coat shows through. Also referred to as white heart (interior white). These beautiful Murano glass beads are handformed rectangles measuring about 36mm by 30mm. They measure about 7mm thick. There is a thin sprinkling of 24kt gold foil abstractly applied to each bead as well as the dots of color of Moretti glass color. The style of the decrotation on these is also known as lacrima (the tear) as the dot is applied and quickly pulled to the side leaving a splash of color the shape of a tear. The colors in this one are a base of white with Cobalt and Amethyst, purple decorations.
