We've been working on the website, that's an understatement. We have redone the photos of some 7,000 products for the web all in the hopes of making the experience better for our customers.
And it's finally getting close. We had a long list of things you wanted, some of which required a lot of patience by you to get there, as it surely seemed our site was in chaos for a while.
Remember when you could add items to the basket from a single picture with all the colors. Now you can add all the items on a page with a single click. It works with search as well. And our filtering (also known as drill down) is starting to take shape. You see the little boxes below which you can pull down to choose. You can choose what colors, shapes, and styles you wish to view. (This may take a little learning as it rather assumes you know what you want to see. And who does?)
We use what is known as a "semi" intelligent numbering system. For example, RN-12-G means it's a Round, 12mm, Gold Foil with the last letter being our color codes. Now had I been more than "semi" intelligent years ago when we started this venture, I would have used the exact color codes of the Effetre Murano Glass. (Sadly, I didn't even know they existed at the time, so I named the beads after friends, boat stops, and other Venetian words.) Eventually it was apparent we needed a better system.
Back to the website: If you know part of the SKU (product code) like RN-12-G, you can type that in search and every last Round, 12mm, Gold Foil bead will appear - if we have done our job. You can add everything from a page to your basket. Type in the number and have a go.
As for "View All" which many of you requested, we're not there. It takes up a ton of bandwidth and for most users, it would chug along for many minutes as it looked up some 15,000 products and degraded the shopping experience of everyone.
So give us your kudos, give us your suggestions, and yes even if you don't like it let us know. We'll do our best. I assure you we are only about 3/4 of the way along on our ultimate dream shopping experience. And just when we get there, I am sure there will be new technology for us to integrate. A website is never done.
