The effect is nown as battuto in Muranese. It is much like the old chevron beads where the mosaico canes were ground to reveal the colors underneath. This new series of colors were designed alongside the bead maker. Size is approximately 20-25 in diameter. Size and shape and exact shading vary as these are completely handmade.
