The heart-shaped focal beads are created in a rich transparent aqua Murano glass, decorated with a sweeping ribbon of warm aventurina-toned glass and delicate raised floral details. Tiny colorful glass accents are individually applied to the surface, giving each heart the distinctive dimensional decoration associated with traditional Fiorato Venetian beads.
A luminous transparent aqua Murano Glass round bead rests above each heart, separated by a petite gold-tone floral spacer that complements the warm decorative ribbon running across the focal bead. Gold-filled ear wires complete the design.
Fiorato—meaning "flowered" in Italian—is one of Murano's beloved traditional lampwork techniques. The decorations are applied by hand while the glass is worked over the flame, so the placement of flowers, dots, colors, and decorative glass will naturally vary from one bead to another. These variations are part of the character and authenticity of handmade Venetian glass.
