Marmo means “marble” in Italian, an appropriate name for the flowing, marble-like patterns created within these Venetian glass beads. Rather than following a precise, repeated design, the colors and metallic elements move organically through the glass, giving each heart its own individual pattern.
This heart features rich Cobalt Blue Murano Glass swirled with sparkling avventurina and genuine 24kt gold foil. The brilliant blue provides a dramatic background for the warm metallic tones, while the avventurina adds its characteristic coppery sparkle.
Avventurina is one of the treasured materials associated with Venetian glassmaking. Tiny particles of copper suspended within the glass create its distinctive shimmer, catching the light as the bead moves.
The combination of cool Cobalt Blue, warm gold, and sparkling avventurina creates wonderful depth within the glass. Turn the bead and the pattern changes before your eyes, revealing different swirls and flashes of metallic color.
Measuring approximately 20mm from top to bottom and across and approximately 14mm thick, this is a substantial heart bead with enough presence to serve as a focal point in a jewelry design.
