Glowing Peridot green and genuine 24kt gold foil swirl together in this beautiful 12mm Sole Murano Glass square bead, handmade in Italy using traditional Venetian lampworking techniques.
We call this distinctive collection Sole, the Italian word for “sun,” because the brilliant gold foil appears through the swirling Murano Glass like sunlight breaking through clouds. Portions of the gold may appear beneath the glass while other areas remain exposed on the surface, giving each bead an organic pattern and wonderful play of light.
This color features shades of Verde Erba, our Peridot Green Murano Glass. The fresh, luminous green is especially beautiful against the warmth of genuine 24kt gold foil, creating a bead that changes character as it turns in the light.
The softly formed square shape measures approximately 12mm x 12mm and 7mm thick, providing more visual interest than a traditional round bead while remaining a versatile size for jewelry making.
A 1mm hole runs through the center of the bead. Its size makes it particularly well suited for earrings, but it is equally beautiful incorporated into bracelets and necklaces or paired with coordinating Peridot and gold Murano Glass beads.
Because the swirling glass and gold foil are applied by hand, every Sole bead develops its own pattern. Variations in the swirls, shape and placement of the gold are natural characteristics of authentic handmade Venetian glass.
A Note About the Exterior Gold Foil
An important characteristic of the Sole design is its exposed 24kt gold foil. Where the gold remains on the exterior of the bead, it can gradually show wear from normal handling and exposure to skin oils, lotions and other products.
This is not a defect. It is a natural characteristic of the design and part of the distinctive appearance of these handmade Sole beads.
