Furnace Glass
Venetian Furnace Glass mouthblown in the furnace of Murano. These beads are made in the tradition of the zanfirico in a furnace specializing in 17th Century reproductions which normally produced elegant Venetian wine glasses and vases. They are annealed for strength. Beginning each night with the sand and soda, and of course secret family recipe, our colors are our own and are vivid. We spent many hours in the furnace each day working with the blowers to get the colors, shapes and sizes we wanted.
Available in four shapes, triangles, rectangles, ovals and rounds and currently in 25mm lengths. Each piece is slightly different. A old Venetian craft in a new form. We are delighted to have worked with our furnace for the past year in developing the techniques. We will be introducing smaller sizes shortly as we refine our processes.
